Red Nose Charity

Post by Jules Pearce on Tue Jun 12, 2018 9:42 pm

Hi there,

I hope you are doing well. I work for Red Nose (formerly SIDS & Kids), we have a charity motorbike event coming up in August that we would love some support with.
We are planning a send-off ride to celebrate the start of our event ‘The Great Australian Ride’ and would love to get as many motorbike clubs/enthusiasts down as possible to ride in support of Red Nose.
Motorcycles clubs across Australia have long been passionate and proud supporters of many fantastic causes, we would like to offer an invitation to clubs in NSW to take part in our charity send-off ride happening Sunday August 5th.

Any riders are encouraged to join us for the first leg of the event which goes from Byron Bay to Tenterfield (200km by road). Alternatively, riders can just come down to ‘The Pass’ car park, Byron Bay to celebrate before the riders take off on the initial stage.

Ultimately, it’s about getting people together from all walks of life to show support for what is still an important cause.

Who are Red Nose?

In case you are unfamiliar with our organization, Red Nose provides vital safe sleeping education to expectant mothers, their families and healthcare professionals all around Australia.
We conduct world-class research into sudden and unexpected death in infancy and provide crucial bereavement support to those affected by the death of a baby or child, receiving more than 10,000 calls for support and education every year.

Since Red Nose’s inception, over $16.83 million has been devoted into researching stillbirth, neonatal death, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), and other causes that contribute to the 3,200 unexpected infant deaths that devastate Australian families each year.

About the Great Australian Ride

Now in its 8th year, the Great Australian Ride (GAR) is one of the most exciting and challenging motorbike adventure treks in Australia. Founder and rider Stuart Ball created GAR as a way of giving back and connecting with the community.
Since the first ride in 2011, GAR has raised over $400,000 for Red Nose and other charities.

The event itself is a 21-day adventure trek from the most East point of Australia (Byron Bay, NSW) to the most West point (Steep Point, WA). Up to 12 riders will be taking part in the ride to raise money and see the beautiful landscape of Australia as they go.
If you would like to learn more about the Great Australian Ride or even get involved in the event (there is still spots available to participate!) – head on over to http://www.thegreataustralianride.com/ for more information.
