Wed 12th September Maryborough Ride

Some pics from Gentle, Peter Barclay Jules. Thanks to Peter Hall for route planning, leading & writing the report. Thanks also to James Lupton as TEC.
This ride was attended by five Peters! Peter Hall's report below

Eighteen riders departed Waurn Ponds Maccas at 9:30am on Wednesday, bound for the Maryborough railway station.
Before we departed we had a few moments silence in memory of “Nifty”. We made our way to Ceres, Stonehaven, Bannockburn, Maude and then on to Anakie where Jimbo, Bob and Robert joined us, having been patiently waiting for nearly 30 minutes.
From Anakie we headed to Ballan where we stopped for morning tea. One of the riders needed a fuel top up but unfortunately there was no fuel available in Ballan so he headed to the highway to fill up, and then re-joined us at the turn off to Maryborough (does this qualify for the Empty Tank Award?). Phil W. had a cam cover gasket failure, and after advising TEC, limped his way home at a max of 2,000 rpm/75kph.
We arrived at the Maryborough Railway Cafe at 12:45pm where a table for 20 had been arranged for us. A few riders opted for lunch in town whilst the rest enjoyed lunch at the station. The cafe staff did a great job, even with the challenge of taking orders for 5 Peters.
After re-fuelling we headed back towards Dean, Gordon and then on to our final destination at Anakie, via the Ballan-Geelong road.
Apart from a couple of GPS malfunctions the ride went as planned. Thanks to Don for turning us around and getting us back on the right track near Egerton. Thanks also to Jim Lupton for Tail End Charlie duties.
