Motor Bike Films. 'No Limit' 1935

Recently Channel 9 broadcast the George Formby film 'NO LIMIT' on mid day TV.  The film was made in 1935 staring Formby as a wannabe Isle of Man TT rider.  The film is a classic amongst the motor cycle fraternity in England and the Isle of Man continues to honour it with a statue of Formby and recognition of the film to this day.   You can look it up on U Tube where they show pre war footage of the Isle of Mann with real TT riders involved.  In the back ground you can see the track with many of the well know sites as they were in 1935.  You can buy the film on Amazon or find free downloads.  There are abridged versions showing the riding and lots of historical stuff about the film as well.   Good fun and not to be taken seriously.

George Forby was a huge star in England and Australia through his recordings, music hall act and many films.  My Dad loved him as did many others.  We played 'Leaning on the Lamp Post' at my fathers funeral.  The best bit is they didn't know him in America.
