Sunday ride to Kingston Hotel 20 Nov 2022
Ride leader: Ron Gentle Howell

Ride Report: Rob Van Der Zee
The Ballad of the Kingston Pub Ride
(best sung to the tune of ‘Gilligan’s Island)
Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale,
A tale of an eventful ride
That started from our usual spot
Seven Ulyssians parking side by side.
The T.E.C was a mighty riding man,
The leader brave and sure.
Five other riders set out that day
For a 250 km tour, a 250 km tour.
The weather started getting rough,
Our motley crew was tossed,
If not for the courage of our fearless leader
The whole day could be lost, the whole day could be lost.
Our group parked outside in the driveway of an isolated hotel
With a BMW
A Suzuki too,
The Kawasaki and a Triumph,
The Indian
A CF Moto and a Harley Dav,
Here at the Kingston Hotel.
(Full Version Continues:)
Now this is a tale of our Sunday ride,
We’re here for a long, long time,
We’ll have to make the best of things,
It’ll be an uphill climb.
The T.E.O and Gentle too,
Will do their very best,
Taking our route over hill and dale,
Our skills put to the test.
More wind, more rain, more flooded roads,
Not much sunshine to see
Like Bert Monroe and his Indian,
Perseverance is the key.
So come join us once a month my friends,
We want you by our side.
An offer from the seven windblown Ulyssians,
Here on today’s Kingston Pub ride

Sunday 20th Nov
A small but brave group. I have to admit the rain and wind made me stay at home, warm and dry. I'm glad to know there were no reported accidents on the day.
