Geelong Triathlon 2023
A few pics from the IRONMAN 70.3 Triathlon, 26 March 2023.
As you probably know, we earn funds for the Geelong Branch by providing a lead rider and riders to carry passengers along the circuit and amongst the competitors for the cycling leg (90kms) of the triathlon. The passengers include race officials, on track judges who issue warnings and penalties for riders who draft (no pelotons permitted), photographers and bicycle mechanics who fix punctures etc.
My heartfelt thanks to Ron Howell who volunteered to liaise with the event organisers and arrange our team - as he has done many times before. I heard nothing but praise for the members of our team as they safely returned their passengers to our command point. Many, many thanks to the following who volunteered their time, motorcycle and expertise:
Here is a random sample of shots to give you feel for the event.

Re: Geelong Triathlon 2023
Thanks to you Jules, and also Gentle.
Again, a great job organising all the elements to make it a smooth operation.
Had a good time this year, my job with the Tech officer Ross was good.
Not many drafters to monitor or advise, so we ended up doing well over 100km around the course, checking on many
breakdowns, welfare checks, and I reckon Ross picked up around 15 discarded or lost full drink bottles off the road.
Three hours on the circuit and busy for all of it!
